10/5 Visit Del Coronado Hotel with
San Diego Harbor

Since it was first built more than 125 years ago, the Hotel de Coronado-a national Historic Landmark-has been a vacation destination in southern California and the world. Stroll the grounds or take a self-guided tour of the famous hotel. Opt to dine at any of the hotel’s eateries, or across the street from the hotel has many dining. Later, drive 10 minutes to San Diego to board a boat for a delightful hour harbor cruise that will sail past many of the city’s landmarks. (No host lunch)

10/17 Olvera Street, Union Station,
and L.A.’s Garment District

Olvera Street, known as “the birthplace of Los Angeles,” is a designated historical site featuring a block-long narrow, tree-shaded, brick-lined market with old structures painted stalls, street vendors, cafes, restaurants, museums and gift shops. Across the street is famous Union Station, the setting for numerous Hollywood films. Time allotted to check out the art nouveau interior.

Then, continue to L.A.’s famous Fashion District, where clothing and jewelry can be bought at wholesale prices. Stroll the colorful back alleyways of Santee Street for the best values!


Museum Row in Los Angeles


In Midtown LA lies Museum Row on Fairfax Avenue. The La Brea Tar Pits, a 23 acre parcel of over 100 tar pits, the Page Museum, part of the Natural History Museum, Peterson Automotive Museum, and the LA County Museum of Art. A stop at nearby Farmer Market for a no-host lunch precedes museum visit. Entrance fees to museums not included.

10/28 Olive, Wine & Cheese Festival at Highland Springs Resort $49

Spend a leisurely afternoon among the tranquil beauty of historic Highland Springs Resort during their annual Olive, Wine & Cheese Festival in this half-day outing.
