Day 1: Depart today from Los Angeles International Airport on your overnight flight to Italy. In-flight meals, entertainment en route.

Day 2: ROME, ITALY. Welcome to the eternal city of Rome, Italy’s vibrant capital. Transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day and evening at leisure. HOTEL CICERONE(or similar)

Day 3: ROME/CRUISING. A full day at leisure to explore the city. Opt to visit the treasures of the Vatican, or take a city tour. Later, transfer to the port of Civitavechhia on the Mediterranean Sea and board your ship, the luxurious Costa Mediterranea. Set sail at 7:00 p.m. (B, D)

Day 6: ALEXANDRIA and PORT SAID, EGYPT. 8 a.m.-11:00 p.m. The former Lighthouse of Alexandria was one of the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World. Now, Alexandria serves as the gateway to Cairo and Giza, where another Ancient Wonder—the Great Pyramids can be visited, as well as the Egyptian Museum and Nile River.(B,L,D)

Day 7: JERUSALEM/TEL AVIV, ISRAEL. 8:00 a.m.-7:00 pm. A full day to visit some of the most magnificent holy shrines in the world, as Jerusalem is central to 3 major religions. Also: Nazareth, Galilee, and Bethlehem.(B,L,D)

Day 8: LIMASSOL, CYPRUS. 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. This historical island was the final stop of the Crusaders before reaching the Holy Land, where many lost their lives. Opt to visit the Crusader castle at Kolossi, or Greek ruins. (B,L,D)

Day 9: RHODES, GREECE.7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Another stop the Crusaders made en route to the Holy Land, Rhodessite of the Colossus,one of the Ancient Seven Wonders of the World—is a walled city largely unchanged since the 13 th century. Turkish markets and the Acropolis at the charming town of Lindos invite exploration. (B,L,D)

Day 10: ATHENS ( PIRAEUS), GREECE. 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Piraeus is the gateway to Athens, the Birthplace ofWestern Civilization. Most visitors opt to visit the Parthenon on the hill of the Acropolis, but there is also the interesting Archaeology Museum, which contrasts Egyptian and Greek art, as well as the lively Plaka shopping district.(B,L,D)

Day 11: OLYMPIA (KATAKOLON)/ ATHENS, GREECE. 8:00 a.m. Disembark after breakfast and tour the original site of the Olympics. Here, yet another Ancient Wonder once stood: the Temple of Zeus. Later, enjoy a scenic drive to the Greek capital, Athens, where you will overnight. HOTEL DIVANI PALACE (B)
